The Hope to Dream celebration hosted by Brett Johnson, Division Manager, Southeastern Virginia at the new Ashley Furniture HomeStore on Virginia Beach Blvd and Witchduck Road on furniture row brought comfort to good people on Saturday, Dec. 8th. Founded in 2010 by Ashley Furniture HomeStore, A Hope to Dream provides less fortunate children a mattress set that is essential to a good night’s sleep. Twelve Hampton Roads children received new Ashley mattress. “With this donation during the holiday season, these 12 Hampton Roads children will get their first good night’s sleep in years,” said Brett Johnson, Division Manager for Ashley Furniture HomeStores of Southeastern Virginia. “We’re so pleased that CHIP of South Hampton Roads President Trish O'Brien started an email chain on our behalf resulting in a wealth of worthy families.” Referrals also came from social workers, church members, teachers, co-workers and family members. A Hope to Dream believes that by helping a child sleep well, they are poised to lead a healthier and more productive life. A bed provides a safe haven at night and most importantly, a place to dream.

We teamed up with Z104 this holiday season for the United States Marines’ “Toys for Tots” program and the Salvation Army. Shaggy from Z104, spent the night on Stuff the Bus at the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Chesapeake where we collected your unwrapped gifts. All the toys collected are delivered to those less fortunate during the holiday season in Hampton Roads. Special thanks for bringing an unwrapped Toy for a special kid who you’ll make smile!
