More Than 10,000 Coats Donated At The WSOC-TV and Ashley Furniture HomeStore Event
Charlotte, NC (January 20, 2010) -- Ashley Furniture HomeStore proudly co-sponsored WSOC/Channel 9’s annual "Steve’s Coats for Kids" 2010 coat drive last week and helped collect more than 10,000 coats for kids in need. The promotion, led by WSOC chief meteorologist Steve Udelson, collects coats for needy children in the Charlotte area and distributes them through the work of the Crisis Assistance Ministry.
From January 7 through January 15, local citizens dropped off new and gently used coats to Charlotte area fire stations, the Channel 9 studios and Charlotte area Ashley Furniture HomeStores. The week also concluded with a January 15th live broadcast from the Pineville Ashley Furniture HomeStore, where more than 1,000 coats were collected on this day alone.

Sales of Furniture, Bedding and Home Accessories Jump to $2.13 Billion in 2009
Arcadia, WI (July 8, 2010) -- Ashley Furniture HomeStore (www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com) once again takes the number-one spot on Furniture/Today's 2010 Exclusive Survey of Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores, posting sales of $2.13 billion in 2009. This is the fourth consecutive year that the company has held the coveted spot for its sales of furniture, bedding and home accessories.
In addition to achieving the ranking of top furniture store, Ashley Furniture HomeStore was also the only company among its peers in the Top 100 group to see either a sales or store increase in 2009. The furniture retailer posted a $35 million (or 1.7%) jump in sales and increased the number of company-owned stores in its network by 11, for a total of 401.

The Top 100 list is compiled annually by Furniture/Today and ranks stores by sales of furniture, bedding and decorative accessories, including warranty, fabric and furniture protection. To qualify for the list, a store has to specialize in home furnishings, which may include electronics and appliances. However, furniture, bedding and home accessories must make up 25% or more of total sales and at least 25% of those sales need to come from the stores.

Furniture donated to tornado victims
SMITHVILLE, Miss. (WTVA, June 22, 2011) - Inmates unloaded furniture Wednesday into a warehouse out of three tractor trailers packed to the top from Ashley Furniture Industries.
The new couches, chairs, dining room sets and more are for people who lost their homes after the April storms.
The furniture company says it is glad to help the storm victims.
Mike Bell with Ashley Furniture Industries said, "This is about $100,000 retail value."
The United Way of Greater Monroe County says the generous gift will go a long way.
Ashley Stubblefield with United Way said, "We have been blessed tremendously as you can probably see, through this warehouse, from all the donations. But three tractor trailers full of furniture for the Smithville and Wren community is just a wonderful donation."
The furniture is just the latest addition to the warehouse where donations continue to add up.
Bell said, "As folks rebuild their homes here, it's my understanding there's an immediate need for furniture. As folks rebuild, there will be an even greater need down the road."
The United Way says it's very grateful to Ashley Furniture for three tractor trailers full of furniture. But they also say the small donations are still important.
Stubblefield said, "There's things that we don't even think of that people still need. I know I talked to a gentleman yesterday who needs roofing supplies."
Local officials here say the generosity shown in big and small ways is immeasurable.
The furniture donation is not available for storm victims right now.
United Way officials say they will soon have an announcement about the process of how the furniture will be distributed.

Ashley Furniture HomeStore Gives Back to Teachers at Fultondale, AL High School
Fultondale, AL (August 10, 2009) -- Amidst the rush of school back in session, the Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Fultondale, AL was honored to partner in the community building project of renovating the Fultondale High School's teacher lounge.
The project included painting, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical work provided by community businesses and volunteers. The Ashley Furniture HomeStore was happy to donate tables and barstools for the room for the enjoyment of the teachers.

Furniture Donated to 47 Apartments in South Florida
Fort Lauderdale, FL (September 29, 2009) -- A local Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Fort Lauderdale, FL, partnered with Camillus House, a nonprofit organization that serves the poor and homeless, to refurnish 47 apartments in south Florida. With the allocated budget from Camillus House and Ashley Furniture HomeStore's donation to cover the difference, each apartment received new furnishings to help residents in need.
"We have partnered with Camillus House for over 10 years and, during this time, have witnessed the tremendous, positive impact this relationship has had on the community and the homeless residents that look to Camillus House for assistance.
